About SIFNOS
(View from my room at Simeon Rooms and Apartment in Kamares, Sifnos. Photo taken September 29, 2021)
"I first visited Sifnos in late September 2021, just as the island was winding down for the season. The summer crowds had drifted away, but the tavernas were still open, the sun still warm, and the whole island felt like it was exhaling. I stayed in a tiny room overlooking Kamares Port, where each spectacular sunset led to a brightly lit evening sky glowing across the bay. What makes Sifnos truly special is its perfect mix of natural beauty, amazing food, and ease of travel. It’s part of the Cyclades, a group of Greek islands known for whitewashed villages and rugged charm. But Sifnos stands out for its food. It’s considered one of Greece’s top gastronomic destinations, and it shows in every bite, from simple chickpea stew to beautifully grilled fish in a seaside taverna. Getting around is refreshingly easy — with a reliable public bus system, affordable taxis, and scenic walking trails between villages. One day I was wandering the narrow paths of Kastro, the next browsing handmade ceramics in Artemonas. There’s a peaceful rhythm to life here that invites you to slow down and just enjoy where you are. Sifnos is beautiful without trying to be. It’s not flashy — it’s authentic, warm, and quietly unforgettable. Whether it’s your first time or your fifth, this island has a way of staying with you long after you leave.`' xxx Angie
